A Trip to the Temple

It has been a while since Jackson and I went to the temple so we decided to go tonight. We did a session at the Timpanogos temple. It is SO pretty there. It always amazes me how peaceful the temple is. Just to be able to go and not think about anything else for a couple hours is so nice. Also, what would the night be without a little shave ice? 😉

J & J

Have you ever heard of Made by Mary? I found them recently and I LOVE their jewelry. She is the cutest mama who started her own company a little while back. I ordered a necklace from them and it came in the mail today. I think it is so cute! You can pretty much plan on me wearing it ever day, ha ha. They're so simple, but so adorable.

Memorial Day

After having visiting all of our loved ones on Sunday, what better way is there to spend Memorial Day than fishing? I don't think there is one, ha ha. My dad, Kris, Jackson, and I headed out on the lake again in our little boat. My dad was a champ to row us around the whole time while we fished. I would be exhausted! Rowing is a lot harder than it looks.

We caught a bunch of fish! Jackson hadn't got a new fish on his new pole so we all were joking that his "pole was no longer a virgin." Too funny! In between rowing my dad even got a fish. I turned around to grab the net and some way or another my lure ended up in my cheek. It was terrifying! I screamed to my dad and he got it out before it went too deep thankfully.

Jackson even caught a little tiger trout! It looked awesome. I caught one of the biggest fish I have ever caught as well. It was just about 18 in". What a fun day! I love spending time out in Vernal. My roots are country and I couldn't be happier about it.

Jackson can't hold his own fish because he is allergic. So I help it for him. True love,  ha ha ha!
My only complaint. I got FRIED from the lake. Oh boy! It was fun. ;)

A Visit to the Cemetery

We woke up this morning and went to church. It was nice to go to the classes since Jackson and I are in primary every week and don't ever get to go. After church, we ate some ribs, potato salad, and broccoli salad that were all DELICIOUS. Then we headed to go and visit a few cemeteries. The first one we went to had both my dad's, mom's and Kris's family. It's amazing how so many of us are connected in so many ways. I learned a lot about some of my ancestors. It sparked something in me to get more into family history work.

Lastly, we ended up at the Rock Point Cemetery. That is where my brother is buried. There are always so many different feelings when I go there. Both sad that he's gone and happy that I know he's okay where he is and doing so much more than I can understand right now. When I'm there, I can feel that it's only his body there, and that his spirit is free and with me I think more than I realize. I know that he is so involved in our lives even if we can't see him. Memorial Day is such a great time to be able to reflect and remember all those that have gone before.

Vernal

Jackson and I haven't been out to Vernal in a while so we headed out today for Memorial Day Weekend. When we got here, my dad and Kris were working on the house for a bit and then we packed up to go fishing.

We got new poles last summer and Jackson still hadn't caught a fish on his yet, so he was pretty excited to go today. As soon as we got to the lake, we got the boat on the lake and started fishing. I caught a fish in the first minute that was a pretty good sized. It turned out to be the only fish we caught that night, ha ha! It was too funny. Even though we didn't catch a ton of fish, it was such a pretty night on the lake! I love being in the fresh mountain air. We're heading back up on Monday so maybe he'll have better luck then. 😊

The Lantern Fest

The Lantern Fest was a DREAM COME TRUE! I have been wanting to go for years. Today, we finally got the chance! When we got there, they gave us our lanterns and kits (they had a lighter, stuff for s'mores etc.) Then we set off to find a fire pit. There were food trucks, music, etc. It was so much fun! We are definitely making this a yearly tradition!

There were SO many people there!

I'm hooked.

Guys, I'm hooked. Ever since I had the last Bahama Bucks shave ice I have been craving another one! Ha ha. Tonight, I tried watermelon. It was delicious of course. If you haven't tried it yet, I would STRONGLY suggest it.

Baseball and Bahama Bucks

After work today, Jackson and I both headed to watch Hayden for his senior night baseball game. It was fun to watch him play one last high school baseball game! It brings back so many memories every time Jackson and I go back to Taylorsville of when we went there. They didn't end up winning, but Haydo had a lot of really good plays. It got kind of hot and we were a little sun burned, so we decided to try out the new Bahama Bucks here in Utah. They had them where I served my mission in Texas. They're delicious!
Also, look at this truck! I saw it while driving. You could say it's my dream car. So cute!

Heather sent me this earlier today. Is that not the cutest? Ha ha!

What A Day

Today was more exciting than most! I had the day off so I woke up early, got our apartment all clean, ran a few errands, went to the zoo, and headed to the hospital to meet my new nephew! The zoo was a total blast. Hadley and Easton are at the perfect age where everything is so fascinating. They loved looking at the animals. Easton waved "hi" to everyone and everything and kept growling at all the animals. Hadley couldn't stay still because she had to look at ALL that was happening around her. She kept pointing at things and talking to them. They're too funny!

After the zoo, Eric, Heather, Jackson, myself, my dad, and Kris all headed up to the hospital to meet my new nephew. He was just about 4 1/2 lbs. and 17 in. They named him Tyson David Hadlock. He is SO tiny and SO cute!!! I was afraid to hold him at first because I've never held a baby that small. I couldn't help but love his cute little ears, nose, mouth, etc. Whenever I meet a new born, I'm always so excited to see them grow up and find out more of what their personality is like.

It was also more of a special day because it was also my brother Michael's birthday that had passed away. I can just picture him in heaven saying, "Ha! He was born on MY birthday." (He was quite a smart aleck.) I really am so excited to see him again one day and ask him what in the world he has been up to for all this time. After visiting the hospital, we all headed to Texas Roadhouse. It was delicious as always. What a crazy fun day.
